Manuscript Review Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase and delivery of the Page & Podium Press Manuscript Review. By completing your purchase, you confirm that you have read and agreed to them.

1. What the Manuscript Review Includes

The Manuscript Review is a high-level editorial analysis of the manuscript as a whole. The written report may address:

* Structure and organization;
* Pacing and reader experience;
* Message and thematic development;
* Audience and market position;
* The manuscript’s strengths;
* Areas that need further development; and
* Recommended revision priorities and next steps.

The review is delivered entirely as a separate written report.

Page & Podium Press does not make changes, corrections, comments, notes, or edits within the manuscript document. The Manuscript Review is not a copyedit, proofread, line edit, fact-check, sensitivity read, legal review, or rewrite.

2. Manuscript Submission

The Author must submit the manuscript within six weeks of purchase.

The manuscript must be complete, readable, and submitted in the requested file format. The Author is responsible for confirming that the submitted file is the correct and complete version.

If the manuscript is not submitted within six weeks, the Manuscript Review may be forfeited without a refund.

The review will be based on the version originally submitted. Page & Podium Press is not required to replace the manuscript with a revised version after the review has begun.

3. Word-Count Limit and Additional Charges

The purchase price includes review of a manuscript up to 120,000 words (this is around 400 pages double-spaced in 12-pt font, so will NOT affect most manuscripts).

Manuscripts longer than 120,000 words will incur an additional charge of $250 for each additional 10,000 words or portion thereof.

For example, a manuscript between 120,001 and 130,000 words will incur an additional $250 charge.

Longer manuscripts will also require additional review time. Page & Podium Press will contact the Author to confirm the additional fee and adjusted delivery date before proceeding.

4. Delivery Timeline

The completed Manuscript Review will be delivered within 21 calendar days of the business day on which Page & Podium Press receives the complete, readable manuscript.

If the manuscript is received on a weekend or Page & Podium Press holiday, it will be considered received on the next business day.

The standard 21-day delivery timeline does not apply to manuscripts over 120,000 words. Page & Podium Press will provide an adjusted delivery date for those manuscripts.

5. Delivery by Email

The completed Manuscript Review will be sent by the Page & Podium Press Project Manager from **[books@pageandpodium.com](mailto:books@pageandpodium.com)** to the email address provided at checkout.

The Author is responsible for:

* Providing an accurate email address;
* Checking spam, junk, promotions, and other filtered folders; and
* Contacting Page & Podium Press if the review does not appear by the expected delivery date.

The review will be considered delivered when it is sent to the email address provided by the Author.

Page & Podium Press is not responsible for delays caused by an incorrect email address, email filtering, mailbox limitations, or the Author’s failure to check for or follow up about the delivery email.

6. Follow-Up Call

The delivery email will include a link to schedule one follow-up call with the editor who completed the Manuscript Review.

The call must take place within three weeks of the date the review is delivered. The Author is responsible for booking and attending the call within that period.

If the call is not completed within three weeks, it will be forfeited without a refund or credit unless Page & Podium Press agrees otherwise in writing.

The call is intended to clarify the written feedback, answer questions, and help the Author identify next steps. It does not include review of revised material, additional manuscript reading, or ongoing coaching.

7. Editorial Judgment

The Manuscript Review reflects the professional judgment of the assigned editor. Editorial assessment is subjective, and the Author may not agree with every observation or recommendation.

The Author retains full control over the manuscript and is responsible for deciding whether and how to use the feedback.

Disagreement with the feedback, disappointment with the recommendations, or dissatisfaction with the tone or conclusions of the review does not mean the service was incomplete or improperly performed.

8. Refund Policy

Because Page & Podium Press reserves editorial capacity and begins work after receiving the manuscript, all payments become nonrefundable once the manuscript has been submitted.

No refund or credit will be issued because the Author:

* Changes their mind;
* Decides not to revise or publish the manuscript;
* Disagrees with the review;
* Finds the feedback more critical than expected;
* Expected a different opinion or recommendation;
* Does not schedule or attend the follow-up call;
* Does not use the review; or
* Is not offered publishing or other services by Page & Podium Press.

The Manuscript Review will be considered completed when Page & Podium Press delivers a written report that includes:

1. An editorial analysis of the manuscript;
2. An assessment of its strengths;
3. An assessment of its weaknesses or areas for development;
4. Guidance concerning its audience or market position;
5. A bulleted set of recommended next steps; and
6. A link to schedule the follow-up call.

Completion of the service does not depend on the Author agreeing with or being satisfied by the editorial conclusions.

Nothing in these Terms limits a right that cannot legally be waived.

9. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback, the Author agrees to contact Page & Podium Press at **[books@pageandpodium.com](mailto:books@pageandpodium.com)** and allow a reasonable opportunity to investigate and address the concern.

The Author agrees not to initiate a chargeback claiming that the service was not received, was incomplete, or was not as described when Page & Podium Press has delivered the materials listed in Section 8.

Disagreement with editorial feedback or dissatisfaction with the review does not constitute non-delivery.

Page & Podium Press may provide these Terms, the submitted manuscript, project records, the completed review, delivery records, correspondence, and scheduling information to a payment processor or financial institution when responding to a dispute.

Nothing in this section prevents the Author from exercising a legitimate legal right concerning fraud, an unauthorized transaction, a billing error, or services that were not delivered as agreed.

10. Publishing Services Are Not Included or Guaranteed

Purchasing a Manuscript Review does not entitle the Author to publication by Page & Podium Press and does not guarantee that Page & Podium Press will offer publishing, editing, coaching, or other services.

For Authors interested in publishing with Page & Podium Press, the Manuscript Review is the first step in the evaluation process. After the review, Page & Podium Press may:

* Offer a publishing agreement;
* Recommend revision before reconsideration;
* Recommend another service; or
* Decline to offer additional services.

Any additional services will require a separate written agreement and additional payment.

If the Manuscript Review results in a Page & Podium Press publishing agreement, the amount paid for the review will be credited toward the applicable publishing package. The credit has no cash value and applies only if a publishing agreement is offered, signed, and paid according to its terms.

11. No Guaranteed Results

Page & Podium Press does not guarantee publication, representation, sales, revenue, reviews, awards, publicity, speaking opportunities, business opportunities, or any other commercial result.

12. Author Responsibilities

The Author confirms that:

* The Author owns or has permission to submit the manuscript;
* The manuscript does not knowingly violate another person’s rights;
* The Author has retained a separate backup copy; and
* The submitted file does not contain malicious software or harmful code.

13. Confidentiality and Ownership

The Author retains ownership of the manuscript.

Page & Podium Press may share the manuscript with employees or contractors who need access to complete or administer the review.

Page & Podium Press will use reasonable care to protect unpublished manuscript material but cannot guarantee the security of electronic storage or transmission.

The written review may be used by the Author and shared privately with collaborators working on the manuscript. It may not be sold, published, reproduced commercially, or distributed as instructional or editorial material without written permission.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Page & Podium Press’s total liability relating to the Manuscript Review will not exceed the amount paid for the service.

Page & Podium Press will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or speculative damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, or decisions made based on the review.

15. Governing Terms

These Terms, together with the checkout page and any written project-specific agreement, constitute the agreement between the Author and Page & Podium Press regarding the Manuscript Review.

Any exception or amendment must be confirmed in writing by Page & Podium Press.

If one provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

These Terms will be governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas.

16. Acceptance

By selecting the agreement checkbox and completing the purchase, the Author confirms that the Author:

* Has read and agreed to these Terms;
* Understands the scope of the Manuscript Review;
* Understands that no edits or comments will be made within the manuscript;
* Understands that editorial feedback is subjective;
* Understands that payments become nonrefundable once the manuscript is submitted;
* Accepts responsibility for monitoring the email address provided at checkout; and
* Understands that purchasing a Manuscript Review does not guarantee publication or access to additional services.
